Setting Up Your Account
Get your A.X.E.L account set up and ready to go in minutes.
Logging In for the First Time
When you first open A.X.E.L, you'll be asked to sign in. You can use your email address or sign in with Google — whatever's easiest. Pick a strong password and you're in.
If you've been invited by someone on your team, check your email for the invite link. Click it, set your password, and you'll land straight in the app with your company already set up.
Adding Your Business Details
First thing you want to do is head to Settings → Business Details. This is important because these details show up on your quotes and invoices — so get them right.
Fill in:
- Business name — as you want it on paperwork
- Address — your registered or trading address
- Phone number — the one customers should call
- Email — where you want replies sent
- VAT number — if you're VAT registered, pop it in here
Example: "Smith Plumbing & Heating, 14 Oak Lane, Manchester, M21 4RT"
Don't skip this step. Nothing looks less professional than a quote with missing contact details.
Uploading Your Logo
Still in Settings, you'll see a spot to upload your logo. This gets slapped on every quote and invoice you send out. If you've got one, use it. If you haven't, don't worry — A.X.E.L will use your business name in bold text instead.
Keep it simple: a PNG or JPG, ideally square or landscape. Massive files get resized automatically, so don't stress about dimensions.
Setting Your Preferences
While you're in Settings, have a look at the other options:
- Currency — defaults to GBP (£), change it if you need to
- Quote validity — how many days your quotes are valid for (30 days is standard)
- Payment terms — your default invoice payment terms
Set these once and forget about them. They'll auto-fill every time you create a quote or invoice.
Inviting Your Team
If it's not just you, get your team on board. Go to Settings → Team and hit Invite Member. Pop in their email, choose their role, and send the invite.
Roles work like this:
- Admin — full access to everything, including billing and settings
- Manager — can see and manage all leads, quotes, and jobs
- Member — can see jobs assigned to them and update progress
Your apprentice probably doesn't need Admin access. Just saying.
You're Good to Go
That's genuinely it. Five minutes of setup and you're ready to start adding leads, firing off quotes, and tracking jobs. Everything else in A.X.E.L builds on this foundation, so it's worth getting it right from the start.
Next up: learn how the Lead Pipeline works and start turning enquiries into paying jobs.
