Installing A.X.E.L as an App

What's a PWA?

A.X.E.L is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — it works in your browser but can be installed like a regular app. Once installed, it gets its own icon, runs in its own window, and works even when you're offline (for basic features).

Think of it as getting the best of both worlds — web app convenience with native app experience.

Installing on iPhone/iPad

1. Open A.X.E.L in Safari (important — must be Safari)
2. Tap the Share button (square with arrow up)
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
4. Give it a name (or keep "A.X.E.L")
5. Tap Add
6. A.X.E.L icon appears on your home screen

Installing on Android

1. Open A.X.E.L in Chrome
2. Look for the "Install" prompt at the bottom of the screen
3. Tap Install
4. Or tap the three dots menu → Add to Home screen
5. Choose a name and tap Add
6. A.X.E.L appears in your app drawer

Installing on Windows/Mac

1. Open A.X.E.L in Chrome or Edge
2. Look for the install icon in the address bar (computer with down arrow)
3. Click it and select Install
4. Or go to browser menu → Install A.X.E.L...
5. A.X.E.L opens in its own window like a desktop app

Benefits of Installing

Faster access:

• Tap the icon to open directly — no browser navigation
• Loads faster after first install
• Remembers where you were when you closed it

Better experience:

• Runs in its own window without browser toolbars
• Alt+Tab between A.X.E.L and other apps
• Full-screen on mobile for more working space

Offline features:

• View recently loaded leads and jobs
• Access your notes and photos
• Changes sync when you're back online

What Works Offline

When you lose internet connection, you can still:

• View leads, jobs, and customers you've accessed recently
• Read notes and view attached photos
• Use the calculator and basic tools
• Browse your materials catalogue

You can't create new items or sync changes while offline, but you won't lose access to your data completely.

Updates

Installed A.X.E.L updates automatically in the background. When you open the app after an update, you'll see the latest features and improvements without needing to reinstall.

Storage

A.X.E.L stores data locally for offline access. This uses a small amount of device storage (typically 10-50MB depending on how much data you access).

The app automatically manages storage and removes old data to keep things running smoothly.

Uninstalling

Mobile: Long-press the A.X.E.L icon and select "Remove" or "Uninstall"

Desktop: Right-click the A.X.E.L icon in your taskbar/dock and choose "Uninstall"

Uninstalling the app doesn't delete your account or data — just removes the local installation.

Multiple Devices

Install A.X.E.L on all your devices — phone, tablet, laptop. Your data syncs across all of them so you can start work on one device and continue on another.

Perfect for checking leads on your phone while on site, then doing quotes on your laptop back home.

Troubleshooting

Install option not appearing?

• Make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge)
• Try refreshing the page
• Clear browser cache and try again

App not working properly?

• Close and reopen the app
• Check your internet connection
• Uninstall and reinstall if problems persist
