Push Notifications
Get instant alerts for new leads, payment reminders, and important updates.
What Are Push Notifications?
Push notifications are instant alerts that pop up on your phone or computer, even when A.X.E.L isn't open. They keep you in the loop about new leads, payment reminders, upcoming appointments, and other important business updates.
Think of them as your business tapping you on the shoulder when something needs attention.
Setting Up Push Notifications
- Open A.X.E.L in your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox)
- Look for the notification prompt when you first visit
- Click Allow to enable notifications
- If you missed the prompt, look for the 🔔 icon in your browser's address bar and click it
- Go to Settings → Notifications to customize what you receive
Types of Notifications
Lead Alerts:
- New lead from your website
- Lead status changes (quoted → won)
- Follow-up reminders for stale leads
Payment Updates:
- Customer paid an invoice
- Invoice is overdue
- Recurring invoice generated
Schedule Reminders:
- Appointment starting in 30 minutes
- Quote visit today
- Follow-up due
Team Updates:
- Team member completed a job
- Timer started/stopped
- New expense logged
Customizing Notifications
In Settings → Notifications, choose what you want to receive:
- All notifications — get everything (can be overwhelming)
- Important only — new leads, payments, overdue items
- Business hours only — no notifications outside 9am-6pm
- Custom — pick exactly which types you want
Tailor it to your workflow. If you're on the tools all day, you might only want lead and payment alerts.
Mobile vs Desktop
Mobile notifications appear like text messages — perfect for when you're on site and need to know about urgent updates.
Desktop notifications show in the corner of your screen — great when you're doing admin work and want to stay updated.
Enable both for complete coverage, or just mobile if you're rarely at a desk.
Notification Actions
Some notifications include quick actions:
- New lead: "View Lead" button
- Payment received: "View Invoice" button
- Appointment reminder: "Open Calendar" button
Tap the action to jump straight to the relevant page in A.X.E.L.
Do Not Disturb
Need some peace? You can:
- Pause for 1 hour — temporary quiet time
- Disable evenings/weekends — work-life balance
- Turn off specific types — keep payments, disable everything else
Your notification settings sync across all your devices.
Privacy and Battery
Push notifications use minimal battery and data. They're sent from A.X.E.L's servers directly to your device — no constant checking or polling.
Notification content is kept private and encrypted. Only you see the details.
