Why Photos Matter

A picture's worth a thousand words — and in the trades, it can be worth a thousand quid. Photos help you quote accurately, prove work was done, settle disputes, and show off your skills to future customers.

A.X.E.L makes it dead easy to attach photos to anything in your pipeline. No more scrolling through your camera roll trying to find that photo of Mrs. Johnson's leaky tap from three weeks ago.

Uploading Photos

You can attach photos to leads, jobs, and quotes. The process is the same everywhere:

1. Open the lead, job, or quote
2. Tap the 📎 attachment button (or the camera icon)
3. Choose Take Photo to snap one now, or Upload to pick from your gallery
4. Add a caption if you want (optional but handy)
5. Done — it's attached

You can upload multiple photos at once. Select a batch from your gallery and they all get attached in one go. No need to do them one by one like it's 2005.

The Shared Gallery

Here's something that'll save you a lot of faff. When a lead turns into a job, and that job gets a quote — all the photos carry across.

Upload a photo to a lead? It's there when you convert it to a job. Attach more photos during the job? They show up on the quote too. Everything lives in one shared gallery for that piece of work.

This means:

• No re-uploading the same photos at different stages
• Your quote can reference photos the customer sent with the original enquiry
• Job photos are automatically linked to the invoice
• Everything's in one timeline, in order

💡 Photos sent via WhatsApp are automatically attached to the lead too. If a customer messages you a photo of their dodgy boiler, it's already in the system.

Before and After Photos

This is gold for your business. A.X.E.L lets you tag photos as Before or After, creating a clear visual record of your work.

When uploading or viewing a photo, tap the tag icon and mark it. Your job profile will then show a neat before/after comparison that you can:

• Show the customer — proves the work and justifies the cost
• Use for marketing — nothing sells your skills like a visual transformation
• Keep for records — handy if there's ever a dispute about the state of things before you started

Get into the habit of snapping a "before" when you arrive and an "after" when you're done. Takes ten seconds and it's worth its weight in gold.

Managing Your Photos

Each photo can be:

• Captioned — add a note like "crack in bedroom ceiling" or "after second coat"
• Tagged — before/after, or custom tags
• Deleted — if you uploaded the wrong one
• Viewed full-screen — pinch to zoom, swipe through the gallery

Photos are stored securely in the cloud, so they don't clog up your phone storage. They're tied to the job forever — even if you delete them from your camera roll, they're safe in A.X.E.L.

Tips for Better Job Photos

• Take photos in good light — turn the lights on or use your flash
• Get the full picture — step back so the whole area is visible
• Caption everything — future you will thank present you
• Before photos from the same angle as after photos look way more impressive
